Damage Deposit
ZootScoot provides Standard Liability Insurance for the Metropolitans and Vino. This means, if YOU damage someone else's property with your rental scooter, the liability insurance kicks in. |

You are responsible for anything and everything else that could happen to you and the scooter while you have it. (Details are in the rental agreement form you fill out for your rental) |
Your personal auto insurance MAY have rental vehicle coverage, and the scooters are considered rental vehicles. Check with your insurance company to find out for sure.
If you return with a damaged scooter, you are responsible for these damages up to $1,700 if a Metropolitan is a total loss, $2,000 for Vino Total Loss, or $5,000 if a Big Ruckus is a total loss.
The Big Ruckus has full coverage insurance, and a $25.00 collision damage waiver can be purchased which waives you of having to pay for any damages. Details in your rental agreement.
You will pay for any damages to the scooter on the day you rent. It is your reponsibility to recover money losses from your insurance company yourself. A replacement parts cost list is on site.

Carbon paper is used to take an imprint of your card that you sign which authorizes funds be taken on the day that any damages may occur. The carbon imprint will live with your paper work while you ride. This deposit also covers lost keys, lost helmets, and lost sunglasses, and the fine for going out of bounds.
ZootScoot does not have any need to keep your card numbers on file. Once you return from you ride with no damages, we will shred the carbons on site with you as a witness, or you may take it with you.
Damage deposits and reservation deposits are 2 different things.
